 Hey everyone. It's your friendly Enhancement Shaman wanting to touch on a very important issue. Account Security. Let's face it, we put a lot of time and effort into our characters and they mean a lot to us. So when some scumbag goes and hacks our account, it pretty much amounts to an invasion of privacy.
Question: So How can we prevent our account from being hacked?
Answer: There are many ways to prevent hacking. Don't use browsers with a lot of known vulnerabilities such as Internet Explorer (Or at the very least, upgrade to IE8 especially if you are on IE6).
Next, get addons for your browser like AdBlock. This kind of addon blocks many types of ads that these ads can actually contain malicious code which will put a keylogger on your computer.
This is an option not available to many, but use a different computer for Internet Surfing then you use for WoW. Honestly, this isn't feasible for many.
Question: What is the best way to protect my account?
Answer: Well, currently there is one method out there that is best for protecting your account. Get an authenticator. So what exactly is an authenticator? It's a device that is synced up to a remote server, every minute a randomly generated number is changed. The Authenticator and server keeps those numbers synced up. So if you log onto your account and there is a keylogger, the hacker less then a minute to be able to get into your account and even then, it will only be the one time because as soon as they log out, they won't have the new key again.
Question: Where can I get an authenticator?
Anwer: There are a few source which I'll provide links.

If you are a consistent raider, then I would please ask that you get your account protected in one way or another. It's such a small one time fee that there really isn't a good excuse not to have one in some form or other.

Patch 3.3 hath dropped
Raiders make sure to get your game patched ASAP, update your addons and don't forget to enable "Load Out of Date Addons"
Raiders, with the drop of the patch, you can expect that we'll be hitting up IC tonight. Now, currently only 4 bosses are unlocked. So tentatively the plan will be to do the Weekly Heroic Raid for our Frost Emblems, then head over to IC. I've linked below to strategies for the 4 bosses that are unlocked. Make sure to read them so you have a semblance of what your role is in the battle.
